Today Not Tomorrow

today_calendarBusiness and marketing people constantly try to figure out what the next big trend might be,  so they can be ahead of everybody else in benefiting from it. Whether it's a technology, a new social networking site or yet another social media tool. Personally, I don't worry about being first. I jump on the train as soon as I see that enough people are along for the ride and then succeed out by executing better than others.  That way I can learn from other people's actions and don't waste my time on technologies, sites and opportunities that are going absolutely nowhere.

I worry about what gets results today, rather than what might happen tomorrow. I guess the reason that works for me is because I get up early and then run as hard as I can before I go to sleep again.

Here's what Gary Vaynerchuk thinks about this topic.
